2010 has been amongst the best years of the 21st century for video gaming, and it started off with a bang: shooters Mass Effect 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2 blasted onto the scene, both selling excellently and loved by the critics (not to mention me, the former getting 10/10 and the latter 9/10). Meanwhile, racers took the stage once more in Split/Second: Velocity (7/10) and Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing (7/10) to rule the online charts, and solo players got their just desserts in February and May with Just Cause 2 (8/10) and Red Dead Redemption (9.5/10) respectively. And as if all this weren't great enough, things were only going to get bigger and better in the summer...
