Information on The Dark Knight Rises, Christian Bale's epic finale to his trilogy as the Caped Crusader, is slowly seeping through ahead of its 2012 release, and an exciting development has occurred today- Anne Hathaway will play friendly adversary Catwoman and Tom Hardy adrenaline-fuelled experiment Bane in the flick. Set to shoot in Summer 2011, The Dark Knight Rises will finally see Batman rise (how'd you guess?) to fame as the fabled protector of Gotham City against all the enemies that will soon threaten to destroy it. Hardy's role as the main villain of the movie has been debated for months ever since his involvement with the franchise was confirmed by DC Comics, and given Bane one day breaks the Dark Knight in a terrible confrontation, the actor might well have a hard time trying to get in role before the cameras roll.
