J Jonah Jameson won't feature in the 2012 Spider-Man revamp, it's been revealed. Previously portrayed by J.K Simmons, in the comics Jameson is the editor of Peter Parker's workplace the Daily Bugle, a newspaper that forms a key part of Spider-Man's rise to fame among the citizens of New York. Could this mean that the genesis story next year's film will show won't take Peter to the height of popularity Toby Maguire's version reached by Spider-Man 2? Maybe, but it has been rumoured that the Daily Bugle will feature in some way in the 3-D flick (perhaps a few teasers via newspaper covers and reports?), so there will definitely be elements of the publication fans know and love present. Meanwhile, Emma Stone revealed at the Golden Globes that Parker will build mechanical web-shooters to become the costume-clad hero who inspires millions of Americans in years to come, so we may just be seeing a very different type of Spidey come 2012. Exciting days ahead!
