Torchwood hasn't even arrived back on our screens yet (this Friday for American viewers and Thursday July 14th here in the UK, in case you'd forgotten!) and yet the BBC have already announced a DVD/Blu-Ray boxset of the fourth season for release later this year. Titled
Miracle Day, the new season sees humanity confronted with a strange new dilemma: what if death stops? As every human on the planet Earth finds themselves seemingly immortal, populations boom within days and the darkest traits of our race begin to come to light as a century-spanning plan by shady figures reaches its devestating fruition...and meanwhile, Captain Jack Harkness finds himself in an equally shocking situation- now, he
can die! It's sure to be a thrilling ten episodes to fill the
Doctor Who mid-season break we're currently in, and the boxset looks to expand on all this with some great new special features. A documentary called "Magical FX on Miracle Day" will form the centrepiece of the extras, plus there will be other behind-the-scenes featurettes, a motion comic (likely the
Web of Lies adventure set to be made available in weekly instalments on iOS devices in parallel to
Miracle Day's UK broadcast) and a tour of the Starz art department.
Torchwood: Miracle Day will retail on DVD and Blu-Ray for a RRP of £30 on the 22nd of November, and the series starts here on Thursday July 14th at 9pm on BBC One.
