The BBC have renewed their new drama Call The Midwife for a second series this week. Based around the memories of the late Jennifer Worth, the show focuses on a group of midwives, and is set in 1950s London. The first and second episodes were great success, averaging 9.8 and 8.6 million viewers respectively, so it's no wonder that another run has been commissioned. We'll see Jessica Raine, Vanessa Redgrave, Miranda Hart and all of the programme's lovable stars back for another round of eventful escapades in the Summer of 2013.
