Fantastic Four Reboot Director Finalised?

Remember the two Fantastic Four movies Marvel Studios gave us a few years back? If not, I can hardly blame you- they didn't sell well at cinemas or on DVD, and those few of us who did have the misfortune of seeing them are doing our best to erase them from our mental hard drives even now. Well, seeing as their reboots of the X-Men and Spider-Man film franchises seem to have worked for the most part, it's not exactly unprecedented that the comic-book-to-movie adaptation studio have begun searching for a team who can resurrect the F4 franchise with a new cast and crew who can cast the stories of the graphic novels in a new light. Right now it appears that Josh Trank will be helming the new movie; if Variety is to be believed (they're usually reliable with their claims), the head honchos at Marvel are discussing a contract for the director of the upcoming superhero film Chronicle to direct the reboot, whereby they will wait for the release of Chronicle and see how successful it is with viewers and critics before installing Trank on his new project if all goes well. From what I've seen, Chronicle looks like a pretty promising endeavour for the superhero genre, so with any luck Trank will be able to get to work on bringing back a franchise with so much hidden potential before the year's up! Chronicle will release in cinemas on February 1st, while Fantastic Four: Reborn is currently scheduled for release in 2014.
