Star Wars: Battlefront 3 In Development?

Take the battle to the current (or next) generation this (or next) year?
I'm a huge Star Wars fan, as many of my colleagues reading the blog will tell you, so any news or rumours that spread about George Lucas' universe right now are music to my ears. Take, for example, the speculation that a new entry in the Star Wars: Battlefront franchise will be announced later this year: Battlefront II was released way back in 2005 (yes, doesn't it make you feel old to know how well you remember those online wars seven years on?), and ever since then rumours have been rampant that developers want to bring a third RPG action-adventure title to the PS3 and 360 before the end of this generation. Now, it seems fans may be onto something, as up-and-coming developer Spark Interactive have teased a reveal for a game that could be "close or far, far away", alluding to the famous opening words of each movie in the saga. In addition to that intriguing tweet by the Brit developer, we've also had a job listing or two from them, the first requiring a senior software engineer for "an unannounced third person sword fighting game (well-known IP, PS3 and 360)", the second for an "AAA third person shooter using Unreal Engine and Kynapse AI middleware," and the most recent for "a 3rd Person Action/Adventure sequel in a high-profile science-fiction franchise currently greenlit for full production development on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3." Put it all together, and what do you get? Something which sounds suspiciously like Battlefront III, and believe me, that would be at the top of my Most Anticipated list if it got announced soon for release this or next year. If Star Wars: Battlefront III is coming and is published by LucasArts/developed by Spark, don't expect details until at least E3 2012, but if it is, expect one hell of a reveal!
