E3 2012: The Ubisoft Press Conference

My thoughts on the best conference of E3 and all the news...
Ubisoft's E3 press conference was, well...astounding. I don't think anyone saw the level of announcements, reveals, demos and sheer confidence that this publisher exuberated in the space of just an hour coming, and that made it such a satisfying hour of gaming goodness for players everywhere. Okay, so in terms of actual new game announcements there weren't that many, but this year's E3 wasn't about new announcements so much as reenforcing already-announced games, and in this respect Ubisoft truly shined, managing to actually win E3 in a sense. Here's all of the announcements summed up...
  • JUST DANCE 4 ANNOUNCED- You can't beat a good dance game, apparently, hence why we had Usher debut Dance Central 3 and then Flo Rida reveal this to the world in the opening minutes of Ubisoft's conference. I'm not a massive fan of the Just Dance franchise, but even I loved having Moves Like Jagger open the show!
  • FARCRY 3 DEBUTED- This one is definitely looking like an ambitious adventure to say the least, with dark and psychological elements that could make for one of the best FPSes of the year, and certainly these were exploited in the new demo shown.
  • SPLINTER CELL: BLACKLIST DEBUTED- Sam Fisher's return had already broken cover at Microsoft's conference, but there was a great new CG trailer here and a few more plot details which can be seen in the video below.
  • AVENGERS: BATTLE FOR EARTH DEBUTED- Another CG trailer, this time for the Avengers movie tie-in. It didn't reveal much, but it undoubtedly had fans such as myself eager to see more of the game very soon!
  • RAYMAN LEGENDS ANNOUNCED- As rumoured by a trailer leak, Rayman Legends is on its way to WiiU this Winter and it's looking amazing so far. The game will be on 360 and PS3 too, so hi-def fans needn't worry.
  • ZOMBIU ANNOUNCED- A WiiU British zombie survival game called ZombiU was announced with a suitably patriotic 'God Save The Queen' trailer released with some guarantted laughs within.
  • WIIU LAUNCH TITLES ANNOUNCED- On top of the other WiiU announcements, it was confirmed that Your Shape 2013, Rabbids Land, Sports Connection and Assassin's Creed III are all headed to Nintendo's console too at launch near Christmas.
  • ASSASSIN'S CREED III DEBUTED- And this is where the great stuff really kicked in: ACIII looked absolutely phenomenal, definitely a show-stealer that really set the quality standard for the 2012 Autumn Of Gaming. Bring on October 31st!
  • SHOOTMANIA ANNOUNCED- Tobuscus helped show off this new 'eSport' game called Shootmania. It won't break much new ground, but it should definitely help usher in a new age of multiplayer gaming for some much-needed genres lacking in innovation...
  • WATCH DOGS ANNOUNCED- And finally was the BIG reveal of Ubisoft's conference, the demo that ensured they have won E3. Watch Dogs is a totally new, revolutionary open-world game likely to retail next Autumn for next-generation consoles, and as you'll see in the demo below, it is an absolutely astounding piece of gaming technology. WOW.
And here's the full press conference in case you missed it- enjoy!
