A new spin-off movie is coming for the animated franchise!The Despicable Me film franchise will grow with the release of a new spin-off instalment, Universal Pictures have confirmed this week. Taking place after the events of the upcoming animated sequel Despicable Me 2, the side-entry will focus primarily on the hilarious yellow minions that the original protagonist Gru employed to carry out his evil schemes. Considering that the Minions were the best part of the first movie and are getting a lot of attention in the second film's marketing campaign, it's a highly justified move on Universal's past. Here's hoping they do a better job with their spin-off than Dreamworks did last year with the merely servicable Puss In Boots (3/5), though. Despicable Me 2 blows a hole into cinemas on July 3rd, 2013, while the franchise spin-off is set for release in Summer 2014.
