UK Film Charts: August 13th-19th

Disney makes a Brave endeavour, and it pays off!
Disney Pixar's latest animated movie Brave was a bit of an uncertain entry into the Brit film charts this week, with mixed critical response leading many to wonder if kids would flock to theatres to see it after Ice Age 4's success. Well, for the makers of the movie, any fears of UK appeal should now have been well and truly allayed, as Brave has topped this week's charts. Besting new competitors such as The Bourne Legacy and The Expendables 2, the Scot-starring adventure is a definite hit for August, and a much-deserved one at that given Pixar's calibre. Things aren't likely to change much in the next few weeks, with The Campaign and Looper marking September's only big releases and Skyfall October's, but it'll be interesting to see what developments come nevertheless. Here's the full list of the Top Ten for the past week:
10. THE WEDDING VIDEO (NEW, TF: 2/5)
9. STEP UP 4: MIAMI HEAT (TF: 2/5)
8. ICE AGE 4: CONTINENTAL DRIFT (3/5)
7. DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: DOG DAYS (TF: 3/5)
6. EKA HAL TIGER
5. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (5/5)
4. THE EXPENDABLES 2 (NEW, TF: 2/5)
3. TED (3.5/5)
