No Franco For Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes?

James Franco comments on the likelihood of his return in 2014...
News on the much-anticipated fantasy film sequel Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes has been coming in intermittent intervals throughout the year, and today marks another time when we've got hints of what's to come. Beyond Andy Serkis' return, we've had no central cast members confirmed for the follow-up to 2011's Rise (our Film Of The Year 2011), so many fans of the rebooted movie franchise have been wondering whether James Franco would reprise his role as ex-professor William Rodman. Franco has today chatted with MTV on the matter, but the signs aren't positive judging by his response: "I was going to be a small part in the next one, maybe even just like on a video that was left behind. My guess is I won't be in it. Nobody's talked to me since [ex-director] Rupert left." The actor indicates that the sequel takes place a while after the human virus begins to shed our race's ranks in the post-credits scene of the original, and thus it seems the cast will be pretty different this time around. Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes is set for release in cinemas on May 23rd, 2014.
