The On-Screen Advent Calendar 2012: Day Five

TOP 5 GREATEST CHRISTMAS SONGS
Today, with twenty days to go until December 25th arrives, I thought I'd pitch the Advent Calendar entry a little differently. As you'll see below, I've handpicked the five musical numbers which I feel best sum up the festive spirit, counting down in order of quality to the Best Christmas Song out there right now. You'll see the YouTube URLs to each song below too.
5. ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS SONG- Peter Kay's gloriously camp second turn as Geraldine McQueen is still a hilarious watch one year on, really convincing us to watch it 'over and over and over again'!
4. MERRY XMAS EVERYBODY- Let's be honest, you couldn't not do a Christmas Song Greatest Hits list without Slade's classic tune. This is most certainly a festive hit for the ages...
3. DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS?- Band Aid's original rendition of Do They Know It's Christmas? remains a beautiful listen, but here I've stuck the 20th Anniversary Edition in, because I reckon it does total justice in its homage with a bunch of modern legends.
2. FAIRYTALE IN NEW YORK- Another festive classic, The Pogues provide an upbeat and rousing melody that is probably the second most-played Christmas song ever. Below, you'll see a hilarious version performed by none other than Michael McIntyre and Pixie Lott.
1. IT FEELS LIKE CHRISTMAS- At the top, though, had to go this all-encompassing Muppets classic. Ripped from The Muppets Christmas Carol, despite its utter lunacy It Feels Like Christmas remains the absolute defining Christmas song!
