Coming Up This Week: July 15th-21st

The World's End blasts into cinemas everywhere, ComicCon invades San Diego and more in another fun-filled week of entertainment!
Once again, while the next seven days aren't so jam-packed with releases as the weeks in August onwards will be, there's plenty of BIG content heading our way. From apocalyptic pub-crawls to nerd-fuelled conventions to a creepy walk in the woods, there's a real variety on offer in the sparse-yet-substantial releases heading to retailers and news sites.

As per usual, we shan't waste any more of your time introducing the content. Instead, let's get straight down to it, and see just what there is awaiting entertainment fans between now and July 21st...
SAN DIEGO COMICCON 2013- Nerds, assemble! Such a battlecry should surely be bellowed from atop misty mountains this week, as perhaps the ultimate science-fiction and fantasy convention returns. We'll be bringing you extensive coverage of the 2013 San Diego ComicCon as all of the big reveals happen- already, we know that Mass Effect: The Movie, Halo 5, Batman Arkham Origins, Sherlock, John Barrowman, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, Game of Thrones, the Xbox One, Arrow, the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Doctor Who will all feature in proceedings, so this should be a week to remember! (Thursday 18th-Sunday 21st)
THE WORLD'S END- Here in Great Britain, it's safe to say that most of us are suckers for a strong Brit cult comedy movie. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have been only too kind as to repay that indulgence already with both Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, and now they're back to wrap up their fabled 'Cornetto Trilogy' with none other than The World's End. Featuring the dynamic duo, Martin Freeman, Rafe Spall and Rosamund Pike among other stars in an apocalyptic barmageddon like no other, this promises to be one of the greatest comedy flicks of recent times. No pressure, then! (Friday 19th)
SHERLOCK: THE HOUNDS OF BASKERVILLE REPEAT- The ultimate fan hunt continues this week, as another word out of the three forming Sherlock Season Three's finale title is revealed in this latest BBC One Season Two repeat. The Hounds of Baskerville was a cracking story anyway thanks to Russell Tovey's sublime performance and the twists on generic conventions, so the search for another key hint at next season's finale is just the icing on the cake. (Friday 19th)
AND THERE'S MORE- As a special treat for Doctor Who fans, the classic era of the show is coming to Blu-Ray for the first time in the midst of its 50th Anniversary. Spearhead In Space: Special Edition bursts into high-definition tomorrow, introducing newcomers to the Third Doctor, the Autons and UNIT for their initial adventure!
AND NEXT WEEK...The Wolverine tears into cinemas to breathe new life into the X-Men film franchise, Now! That's What I Call Music 85 hits the retail and digital airwaves, Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame comes to tablets and handheld devices and the Sherlock: The Reicenbach Fall repeat reveals the name of the Season Three finale...
