Discover what Idris Elba and Naiome Harris in store for their rendition of one of the world's foremost freedom fighters!The Weinsten Company have today released the first theatrical trailer for their upcoming biographical drama film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. Based on the book of the same title, this new biopic focuses on the life of a young Nelson Mandela, played by none other than Luther's Idris Elba.
While recent big-screen biopic efforts such as J. Edgar have proved that this can often be something of a hit-or-miss genre, the first signs here seem fairly positive, with a lot of respect clearly having been given to the ill icon during the movie's production. Starring Elba, Naiome Harris and a host of lesser-known but talented actors and actresses, Long Walk to Freedom could prove a fitting epitath for a South African legend if Mandela's time on this Earth does come to an end in 2013.
Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom marches into cinemas worldwide on November 29th.
