Nintendo WiiU Price Cut, Bundles Announced

Link returns, plus Nintendo cave into their disappointing WiiU sales with a quite impressive pricing rearrangement...
Nintendo have today announced a new price for the Nintendo WiiU video games console and two new bundles that will retail this Autumn alongside the price cut. First, as of October, the Nintendo WiiU will be priced at $300 (£200). The vast majority of the publisher's followers and critics could likely have seen this decision coming, with the WiiU's recent sales having proven to be some of the worst in the company's history of innovative pieces of hardware. That RRP in itself could even be cut further by retailers, forming an undeniably enticing proposition for parents this Christmas in contrast to the PlayStation 4 (with PSEye) and Xbox One's £429 price tags.

On top of that announcement, the publisher revealed two new hardware and software bundles set to launch later this year. These will tie the Nintendo WiiU console with its bestselling titles LEGO City Undercover and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD. Official RRPs for these packages have yet to be announced in the UK- however, GAME have today confirmed that the Zelda bundle will retail at a price of £250 at the same time as Wind Waker HD's UK release on October 4th.

The Nintendo WiiU console is available now worldwide, with the price cut due to be placed into effect as of September 20th.
