Titanfall Release Date Announced

Respawn Entertainment's Microsoft-exclusive first person shooter blasts into retailers next Spring.
Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have today announced the release date for their upcoming first-person-shooter Titanfall. Shipping exclusively on Microsoft consoles, the near-future adventure has been met with a wealth of acclaim ever since its E3 2013 début, which should no doubt set expectations high for the quality of the final product come its release.

If nothing else, Titanfall is landing within a release window which currently is not inhabited by many other major video game releases. Fable Anniversary and Infamous: Second Son are due in February, with Dark Souls II set to launch in March, yet other than those titles, the opening quarter of 2014 isn't offering up much in the way of notable Game of the Year-competing content. Watch Dogs will be launching within the Spring months after its delay from November, so Respawn will have to rival Ubisoft's renewed marketing campaign in order to come out on top, although EA certainly don't need to be worried about the extent of their own promotional campaigns based on the evidence from Battlefield 4 this Autumn.

Titanfall launches on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on March 13th, 2014.
