Alice In Wonderland 2, Jungle Book Release Dates Announced

Mia Wasikowska returns to believe more impossible things before breakfast in 2015!
Walt Disney Pictures have today announced the worldwide release dates for two of their upcoming fantasy film projects. They follow Into The Woods, a fantastical musical starring Meryl Streep, James Corden, Johnny Depp and Emily Blunt and set to release next Christmas.

First up is Jungle Book. A live-action reboot of the classic Disney flick of the same title, this updated take on Rupyard Kipling's acclaimed children's novel is set to début in one of the most dangerous years for the film industry yet. Granted, the team have evaded the particularly destructive Summer of Film, but Bond 24, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 and Star Wars Episode VII are all set to release in close proximity to the project, and thus this is a financial risk nonetheless.

After that, viewers can expect to see a fully-fledged sequel to Tim Burton's 2010 motion picture Alice In Wonderland. Continuing the franchise of live-action successors to Lewis Carroll's novels and the 1951 Disney film, the second instalment will again star both Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. 2016 is a more unpredictable front at this stage (due in no small part to the year itself still being twenty five months away!), yet even from the sequel's release date, it's clear that the Summer of Film 2016 will be another manic blockbuster season, with The Amazing Spider-Man 3, How To Train Your Dragon 3, Finding Dory, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Angry Birds all readying for release at the same time...

Jungle Book swings into cinemas worldwide on October 9th, 2015, while Alice In Wonderland 2 tumbles through a rabbit hole onto the big screen on May 27th, 2016.
