Doctor Who: The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot Announced

Another 50th Anniversary treat set to launch on Saturday is revealed.
The BBC have today announced the broadcast of Doctor Who: The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot on their Red Button service this weekend. A fifteen-minute comedy production, the one-off special joins An Adventure In Space And Time, An Unearthly Child's BBC Four broadcast, Who Is The Doctor?, You, Me And Who: A Culture Show Special, Doctor Who Live: The Afterparty and The Day of the Doctor itself in the studio's plethora of celebratory programmes.

Until now, though, this was a project which we had seldom heard of. It transpires that The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot has been written and directed by Peter Davison, and will feature Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and David Tennant in a fictitious quest to right the classic Doctors' absences from the 50th Anniversary Special. That showrunner Steven Moffat has given the green light to this charming little project likely means that things are a bit tongue-in-cheek, and that The Day of the Doctor may yet feature some presence from classic Doctors (indeed, Tom Baker has virtually confirmed a cameo appearance!), but either way, this is a great treat to look forward to on the big day!

Doctor Who: The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot launches via the BBC Red Button service on Saturday November 23rd from 10pm.
