BAFTA 2014 Film Awards Winners Announced

The age of shock victories in the awards season has apparently reached a swift conclusion...
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts have this week announced the motion picture, directors, actors and production teams which have claimed their prestigious Film Awards for the year of February 2013-January 2014 (we're sure that there's logic in there somewhere, just don't ask us to find it). Of course, those readers with access to a social network of any kind will probably have picked up on the major victors well in advance of the awards ceremony's BBC One broadcast yesterday evening, not least due to the two-hour delay which came about as a result of Call the Midwife's 8pm timeslot.

Nevertheless, the vast majority of social networks tended to only display those winners which they deemed truly noteworthy, and as such, you may have missed out on one or two details from the full winners list. Enter our annual round-up feature, where we recap each of the categories, their respective victors and (where appropriate) our alternative selections for those titles which were falsely claimed by ever-so-slightly inferior nominees (the latter marked in red, the former in green). Here, then, is our comprehensive collation of all of the BAFTA 2014 Film Awards' major developments:
