The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Delayed

Geralt's final adventure (and his first next-gen outing, no less) has been pushed back to 2015!
CD Projekt RED and Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment have today announced that their upcoming fantasy role-playing video game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has suffered another delay in its release schedule. Until now, fans were anticipating a Summer 2014 launch for the third and final chapter in the notoriously challenging franchise, and as such, their patience will no doubt be tested considerably in the additional nine months or so that now separate them from experiencing the final product.

Where does this development leave the video gaming industry and its roster for 2014, then? Thankfully, the delay in question shouldn't have too much of a profound effect on our enjoyment of what's to come, since between now and the newly-announced release date, we've got Titanfall, Dark Souls II, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, LEGO The Hobbit, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Watch Dogs, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, Destiny, Batman: Arkham Knight and Assassin's Creed V to look forward to, and better yet, those are only the instalments that we know about before this year's E3 conference and the wave of game reveals that come with it over the Summer months. If it's a dense RPG that players are looking for, then they'd be well advised to try out South Park: The Stick of Truth or The Elder Scrolls Online (a beta for which can be accessed on CVG.co.uk at this very moment, if that's of interest to you, dear reader) in the meantime.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will retail for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in February 2015.
