New Watch Dogs Multiplayer Gameplay Trailer Released

You just can't keep a good dog down- the six month delay doesn't seem to have done Ubisoft any harm!
Ubisoft Montreal have this week released a new trailer for their upcoming open-world third-person-shooter video game Watch Dogs. Utilizing PC footage no doubt, the latest video preview focuses on the game's innovative online multiplayer component.

Like the vast majority of high-calibre titles on the market right now, Ubisoft's latest franchise-starter ditches the concept of offline, on-couch multiplayer modes in favour of gameplay styles which are better suited to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. In this case, however, we can't really say that we blame them, since the brilliantly unique concept of our campaigns being 'hacked' by other players at a random time works all the better if we can't see those intruders' faces, feeding into the pervading sense that the open-world Chicago is controlled primarily by the digital devices which the protagonist Aiden Pearce and his foes wield over the course of the action-driven storyline. Although it's tough to accurately tell from the new footage whether the aforementioned online sequences will be as seamless as the developers suggest, it's reassuring that Ubisoft at least aren't holding back in terms of demonstrating as much of their product's potential as possible in the run-up to release.

Watch Dogs hacks onto PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC this May 27th.
