New Assassin's Creed Title & Lead Developer Announced

Source: Ubi Forums
Assassins and Templars will duke it out once more in a new instalment of the annual saga.
Ubisoft have today announced the development of a new entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise of open-world action-adventure video games. Since its (slightly) rocky début in 2007, the series has quite simply gone from strength to strength, with last year's Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag marking a particular highlight of the story so far for a considerable number of long-term followers.

Though the company were predictably coy with regards to plot or gameplay details (for all we know, the aforementioned sequel may only just have started development), Ubi went on to confirm that Ubisoft Quebec will be the lead development team in this instance. Traditionally, the publisher's Montreal branch has headed up development on core Assassin's Creed games, yet with Unity having been in the works for nearly three years now, it makes sense that once the partially co-operative next-gen product hits stores, the Montreal team might hope to take their foot off of the accelerator for a while. Stay tuned to On-Screen for more details on Unity and future Creed projects in the coming days...

Assassin's Creed: Unity launches a Revolution on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC this October 28th.
